Welcome To NEVADA via PNN Vicarious Travels

Las Vegas

As we were rushing to meet up with the rest of the group at a specified time and place, we were stopped in our tracks by the beautiful, yet contrasting sight captured in this picture. --- Lisa V.

LORI’S TRIP TO LAS VEGAS

These are three photos taken at the Paris Casino.  The decor gives the feeling that you are in Paris.  We ate delicious food and wine at one of the restaurants.  Also there is a Creperie where we shared two huge crepes.  One had bacon, tomatoes and mushrooms with a basil marinara sauce and the other had apples and caramel and lots of whipped cream.  We will enjoy the crepes when we go again.

These are three more photos taken at the Ah Sin restaurant on Las Vegas Boulevard.  We ate outside because the weather was so nice.  The first photo is of the fountain that we sat right next to.  The second photo is us and our entrees.  Alden had the Mongolian Beef and I had the Mongolian Lamb Chops.  Wow it was superb.  Our Chinese waiter couldn't believe that I ate the whole thing.  We had lettuce wraps for hors d'oeuvres.  The Ah Sin is right across from the Bellagio so we heard the music and saw the Singing Waters in front of the Bellagio.

The first photo is one of the hallway ceilings in the Paris Casino and the other is Bally's South Tower when we were walking back at night.  It was a wonderful trip but I had to put my foot on ice when I could and take Aleves.  I don't know when I have walked so much.

We had a very nice visit with Hank and Judy.  He drove us up to Mt. Charleston in the mountains West of Las Vegas.  We had lunch there.  The air was wonderful.  We are not used to breathing such clean air.  The views were beautiful.  We stopped at a ski area at 8,800 feet and at another stop we made snowballs.

Hoover Dam

Having been to Hoover Dam before, I was certainly surprised of how completely different it was when I was with a "real" tour guide. When we approached the dam, everyone in the bus had an equal response of a deep breath, looking over the dam at the beautiful Colorado River. I was amazed at the beauty of the cliffs on each side of the river and just how very hot those same rocks could get.
