Welcome To The SFPNN Prayer Page!

The power of prayer is amazing.  It doesn't matter if you pray on your knees, in church, or in front of your computer.  God isn't fussy about formality or religion, either.   Prayer is as simple as a thought but its energy can invoke miracles.  Take a moment to pray for those below or submit your own request to: Prayer@sfpnn.com   Include your e-mail address with your name if you would like for others to contact you.

"I always pray for a miracle.
Sometimes the miracle is extended life here on earth and
sometimes it is the complete healing we receive in the miracle of eternal life."

04/04/08 Vanessa Corriat Vanessa Corriat had surgery on March 28th. She is a sweet girl from Venezuela. I don't know all of the details but I know she had surgery to repair one of her lungs.

She is alone in L.A. without family here. She asked that I email all of you and request that you think happy and healing thoughts for her. If you pray, please add her to your prayers. If you are a reiki practitioner, please send her reiki.

Best wishes to all of you and thank you!  Jennifer

03/20/08 Paxten Mitchell Paxten has a rare form of childhood leukemia which does not respond to traditional treatments.  His family's health insurance refuses to pay for additional treatment and Paxten's prognosis has not been good.  Please pray for a miracle and much needed assistance for Paxten and his entire family.  You can learn more about Paxten at: http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/paxtenmitchell
03/20/08 Ellie's Mom Ellie's Mom is in a nursing home in Canada where it can be difficult to maintain a positive attitude.  Please pray for her well-being, excellent care, and a healthy, positive frame of mind.  May angels surround her and keep her well.
03/18/08 Emma Maria Baggett A dear friend of Wind Daughter's has a nephew, Ken, with an eight month old baby, Emma. Emma was in her walker when she yanked a cord that turned a crockpot over on her. It knocked her out and she has severe burns. She is in critical condition.

The accident happened in Mobile; Emma was transferred to Birmingham, where they could do little for her. She is now in the process of being transferred to Cincinnati.  Ken (who is only 19-20 himself) saw Emma in the hospital and said she was responsive to him. But the situation is extremely serious.

Wind Daughter asks that you pray for Emma Marie Baggett, her parents, and the rest of the family. These next hours and days are most important to her.  Wind Daughter sends her thanks.  -- Pat (Ross) deVarennes

03/07/08 Bill & Cheri's Family Just a quick note to ask you to remember a particular family in your prayers. Cheri, one of the moms from Ann Arbor Christian School, died unexpectedly on Wednesday at age 48 of an apparent heart attack. She and her husband Bill have two young daughters, one in second grade and the other in third. Thanks, Katie
01/15/08 Carolynn's Mom,
Carolynn and Pat S
Pat’s Mom had a stroke around Christmas and seems to be recovering well. But Carolynn’s Mom was just involved in a very serious auto accident.

As Pat writes: “She has undergone 5 surgeries in 7 days to remove a kidney, repair a spleen, repair a liver, and repair a torn aorta. Any one of these injuries could have taken her life. According to the trauma surgeon, she only had a 1 in 10 chance of making it to the hospital alive. 90% of the victims of these injuries die at the scene of the accident. So to have her still here is nothing short of a miracle. Her last surgery was yesterday where they finally closed up her abdomen.”

I agree with Pat that it is nothing short of miraculous for his mother-in-law to be with us. Yet I know God works through all of us and miracles are every day occurrences. We need another miracle for Carolynn’s Mom. After all those successful surgeries, it appears she has some bruising on the brain. Folks, lets send all the unconditional love and healing we can to Carolynn’s Mom. Let’s also send some unconditional love and healing energy to Carolynn, Pat, and all the medical staff involved; and also to Pat’s Mom who is recovering from a stroke.

I know each one of you has faith that can move mountains and I know we can create the kind of healing energy around these folks that literally creates miracles. Thank you for your Love, Healing, Grace and Blessings and for letting God’s energy flow through you to help those in need.

Here is the latest from Pat:   (01/17/08)

Carolynn has low points and high points. It is quite an emotional roller-coaster as one would expect.

Her mom is not fully awake at present. The last two days her mom opened her eyes when she heard voices and seemed to move her left hand slightly when Carolynn was holding it. She also attempted to swallow. She is showing wrinkles in her forehead when she is in discomfort and other vital signs spike along with that. The ventilator setting has been reduced to 6 breaths/min and she keeps it well into the 14-16 range on her own. Sometimes peaks at 25. If her breathing continues to improve, they may remove the ventilator. She has developed a bit of pneumonia consistent with being on the ventilator all this time. This is being treated with anti-biotics.

She is responding to pain, and some voices and sounds, but is not doing things on command. While we are encouraged, the doctor indicates that these signs are primitive. My opinion is these are better than no response at all. Carolynn talks to her mom when she visits. Today begins some physical therapy which the family is encouraged to be present. They want the family to participate as well. They are also planning to move the feeding tube from her mouth to her stomach. This would clear her mouth area (which is wired shut from the broken jaw).

We continue to pray for continuation of this miracle. Nothing would make us happier if she would come around to a more conscious state. CT scan on Tuesday indicated no change in the brain bruises found on Sunday's scan. The positive I take away from this is it didn't get any worse. No pressure is being put on the brain which is good. The doctor says she is optimistic because when she arrived at the ER the night of the accident, she was conscious.

Thanks for your concern, I will pass those along to Carolynn. I am going up Friday night. I will give you and update when some more things develop. We are still in wait and see mode.

Please send our thanks to Jeanette and her friends. We have engaged so many people praying, we suspect God is working overtime to answer them.

Why Pray?

The following story  - submitted from a fellow PNNer who knows the power of prayer - gives at least one good reason.

May I Pray For You?

Submitted by Susan  from: Chaplain777 - http://www.geocities.com/heartland/bluffs/2779/

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition,
with thanksgiving, present your requests to God."

--- Philippians 4:6

I walked into the office. The secretary seemed struggling with her breathing and her countenance was different than normal. "Are you OK?" I asked.

"Allergies," she replied. "Sometimes it gets so bad I can hardly breath."

"May I pray for you?" I asked.

"Oh, I don't want to take up His time with something as menial as me. I'd rather not waste it on me. You should pray for someone much less fortunate than me. My mother always taught us to pray at the dinner table for those less fortunate than us," she replied.

The woman was touched that I would offer to pray for her. The next day I told her my prayer group was praying for her. She could not believe that I would do such a thing for her.

It is interesting what happens when you offer to pray for someone. Offering to pray for someone can be the most genuine and loving thing you can do for another person. It can be the one means of getting a conversation on a spiritual plane that cuts across religious stigmas and gets to the root of the problem -- the person's real need. It immediately reveals your own values and sets the stage for future encounters. All it takes is a little Holy boldness to step through the door when the opportunity seems to present itself.

Is there anything too small that you and I can pray about? Do we, in fact, bother God with any request that is not dealing with just the poor in Calcutta? Paul tells us clearly in his passage that prayer is talking with God.

We've all heard the housewife's prayer for a parking spot or other such seemingly trivial requests. But, is this trivial to God? If God is our closest and most intimate friend then it becomes very natural to talk to Him as you would a friend who might be sitting next to you in the car. Yes, God desires to have such close communion with you and I that we can pray about ANYTHING. Even a parking spot.

As you enter the marketplace today, ask a co-worker if you can pray for them about something. You may be surprised at what doors will open as a result.

A Prayer For Angels   --- Thanks to Penny L.

I prayed for Angels to guard you and your family night and day,
I prayed they would hover and keep harm away.
If you hear the swish of wings or feel a gentle touch
I know God heard my prayer today and loves you very much.

A Very Special Prayer From 6-Year-Old Trooper-Taylor

A note from Taylor's Mom:  "Our Taylor decided he wanted to draft up in his own words awhile back a letter to God in special thanks as Taylor and I were caught in rushing flood waters.....Liz"

Dear God;

Thank you for saving us from the water. We love you and we love you so much because you listen to our prayers. Thank you for saving us. I was so sad because my voice went squeaky and my Mommy was screaming. I was very scared. Did you hear Mommy put her voice up to you for help? Did you hear me too God? We swimmed like a boat and went back and forth. Was it okay that we were scared?

Thank you for showing us our way home. We got home safe. I will always remember you and you will always know my heart and that you will always remember us too. You always remember me and always remember my Mom and Dad. I will always remember you. Thank you very much. I love you. I love you so much. I will always remember your heart and will always love you.

You always love my Mom. You always love my Dad too. You always love me. You always listen. You always remember to save us. I wish I could see you. Will you please come to my house? Your my friend. I know you will come because I asked you. I always believe you. Love you so much. Thank you for helping us. Do you still have my address? I love you again.

AMEN

Faith

May your faith in God always be strong

To lift you up and carry you on.

May your Faith emanate and anchor in You -

Believe in your Self and all you can do.

May your Faith shine on those you Love,

To nourish their Spirits with help from Above.

When things go astray and nothing makes sense,

When it seems your efforts have all been spent,

Hold tight to your Faith in Friendship and Love -

Have Faith in Yourself and God above.

MY PRAYER

O Lord, I prayed, please take my life.
I cannot live apart from Thee.
Please rule supreme now in my heart.
I must have light, the way to see.

My life has been so dark and drear.
But now you’ll dwell serene within.
Please take my pity, doubt, and fear,
And lift the burden of my sin.

I always thought myself so good;
I went to church, the Bible read.
I mostly did just what I should,
And then, at night, my prayers I said.

Of worldly goods I shared so much;
A worthier steward, who could find?
No person could my goodness doubt,
For I was always true and kind.

But then, one day I met Thee, Lord,
And seeing all your perfectness;
I felt within so unfulfilled
And sensed my own unworthiness.

You gave your life and all you had.
You saved my soul at such a cost.
Without your love and sacrifice,
This world of ours would be so lost.

For all Thy mercies, Lord and King,
How can I prove my love to Thee?
I’ll make my heart Thy new domain
If Thou wilt reign unendingly.
