"ALL THAT I GIVE IS GIVEN TO MYSELF"

Today is John's birthday! "HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUANITO!"   (From 11/02/09)

This is a momentous occasion for me. And for a lot of reasons. John is Joy's son. He is bright, intelligent, and plays a mean keyboard. His father lives in Australia and on a few occasions I have called the local Jazz radio station (KLON) to ask them to play something by John's father, which they do and it is always "simply marvelous, Darling!" John obviously has the musical genes that make Joy and Gordy the melodious beings they are. No wonder John is an excellent musician too!

Another reason I happily celebrate this birthday for John is because he and I have been through some harrowing experiences together. Thank God I don't drink anymore! When I did and John was in my life I wasn't very pleasant. The combination of alcohol and John drinking too, (HE doesn't drink anymore either!) made life in Hawaii a little bit of hell. The details really don't matter. Just know that it wasn't pleasant when John and I lived together.

Now John is doing just fine. He has recently settled in an apartment of his own and has been helping Joy get her web site together again. (John is an expert webmaster. He is good at whatever he does whenever he puts his mind and heart into it, and for Joy his heart is really there!)

Being happy for John's well-being is easy. He, like you, deserves the joy of his Higher Power. And right now John is happy. My well wishes for him are not for just his birthday, but also for everyday of his life. He has learned, as I have, that not every day goes as we want it to go, but our attitude adjustment is ready and able to make all things easier from inside ourselves - not from what happens outside and around us. I thank God for John in my life through all we have shared because I have learned that peace comes from my Higher Power too!

Mahalo, John, and again HAPPY, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Love,

Ray
