Rebecca
Author of A Path to Freedom

Rebecca is SFPNN's youngest featured Website Only Author with her novel in progress, A Path to Freedom.  The story of a young boy who goes off to war to defend his country, Rebecca writes our hero into some very challenging situations!

Hello, My name is Rebecca.  I'm 12 years old and this is my first written book ever.

I have two sisters, Ashley and Amy, and I also have a dog and a cat.  My dog’s name is Bingo and he can open doors all by himself.  My cat’s name is Poncho after a Mexican hero.

I was born Wisconsin. Then I moved to Florida and then back to Wisconsin. I enjoy rock climbing and painting.  I am trying to make my way through middle school by keeping my grades up.  I like to write or read in my own free time.  I'm Mexican American and every one speaks two different languages in my house hold.

What made me want to write were authors like J.K. Rolling and Gary Paulsen.  I love to write -- it lets me express my feelings and my imagination.  I've written poems before for a class project and my 5th-grade teacher, Mrs. Kivler, loved them. When I was in 4th grade, I also wrote a story called the, The Case of the Missing Girls.  That story was funny and my class really liked it.

I'm hoping to write more books.  I also hope you want me to write more books like A Path to Freedom.

My favorite saying is, "You can accomplish a lot when you try."  You know what? I tried to write a book and I did!  So I encourage you to think of this saying, too.  It might help you accomplish your dreams like I did.
