Welcome to the SFPNN
Book Store

Books and media of all types have a tremendous impact
on our society and us directly. (If you don't believe me, try the week long media-deprivation experiment in the
book, The Artist's Way - you might be surprised!) With radios, TV, CD's, videos, movies, newspapers, the internet,
magazines, books and more abound, we have ample choices of what to fill our minds with. Below are some of our
favorite books that, in my opinion, make a positive impact.
You are officially invited to recommend your favorite
books, tapes, and more, and to give your personal "review" on anything currently listed (or that you would
like to see available) in our bookstore.

How
Can You Mend A Broken Spleen? Home Remedies For An Ailing World |
|
In
a series of insightful and humorous vignettes, this book reinforces moral values that all parents want their
children to embrace, such as honesty, courage, tolerance, integrity, hard work and loyalty. Writing from the
viewpoint of a reasonable, middle class husband and father, Walker provides some welcome perspective in a world
that seems to have lost its moral direction.

Book Review by Sharon Palmer
All of the stories in this book (Stories For The Extreme Teen's Heart) are incredible, and make you think,
bring a tear to your eye, or both. You're left with a deep-down warm feeling that is more than comforting -- it
makes you want to go out and do something nice for someone so you can keep that feeling going. I wrote one of the
stories (on pp. 61-62), and am humbled to have my story included in such a wonderful book with so many brilliant
authors. Thank you, Alice and the "Teen Team," for making that happen!
Blessings, Sharon Palmer

Modern
Day Knight holds a very special place in my heart. So often we see the stories about kids and people
"gone bad." I have personally known some of the people that would ordinarily be stereo-typed
into this category and have discovered that the majority of "hardened souls" are simply trying to
survive and are too afraid to love... they act out to protect themselves, much like a medieval knight would do
placed in today's threatening environments. I am honored to have Modern Day Knight placed with other work
deserving merit and hope you will enjoy this book, also. |
