Thanks to
Diane, The California Dreamer,
along with occasional guest authors, for providing us with the
Wednesday WORD.
(With special thanks to Heather Sill and Lisa Vaden for past contributions to
the WW.)
Here's to another year of
writing for SFPNN. I can hardly believe it has been 6 years since I won that
writing contest and Jeanette asked me write The Wednesday Word.
Those of you who have been
following my weekly column know there have been many changes in the format of
the article, and there have been many major changes in my own personal life.
So much has happened in my life
the last 18 months when I picked up the only life I knew and moved to Southern
California to follow my dream. Southern California has exceeded my every
expectation in every way possible. I've had many surprises both good and other
than good. I have grown in my confidence and know without a doubt exactly
what I am made of.
I continue to amaze myself with
my ability to navigate my new area and have grown very accustomed to
California being my home now. I have made many new wonderful friends and
joined a great spiritual community where I have grown in leaps and bounds with
my own personal spirituality.
I continue to be lead to
activities in the area that are ever so enriching to my continued growth. I
often have to pinch myself to remind myself that I am not dreaming or on
vacation -- I live here.
If you have tucked a dream deep
inside your heart and soul -- trust and believe it can come true. I am proof
of that. Don't give up -- keep believing.
Here's to another great year
ahead for us all!
Enjoy the journey!
Diane

“We’re
all in a place to do something of great magnitude and courage.
It does not have to be anything of wide scope,
or even something that a lot of people know about.
It’s about touching the lives of people that cross our path”

FLYING IN A CESSNA; ONE
OF MANY NEW EXPERIENCES IN SO CAL
WORDS FOR IT
by Julia Cameron
I wish I could take
language
And fold it like cool, moist rags.
I would lay words on your forehead
I would wrap words on your wrists.
"There, there," my words would say --
Or something better.
I would ask them to murmur,
"Hush" and "Shh, shhh, it's all right."
I would ask them hold you all night.
I wish I could take language
And daub and soothe and cool
Where fever blisters and burns,
Where fever turns yourself against you.
I wish I could take language
And heal the words that were the wounds
You have no names for.
